Generally speaking I don't love going to the dentist, but Dr. Salome makes it more comfortable for me. You can tell she cares a lot. She's great and also very friendly!

Riaz Qazi

Dr. Maria Salome is an outstanding dentist. A few months ago I had a severe dental issue come up for which Dr. Salome went above and beyond to help with. She gave me great advice which I followed (it helped tremendously) and took great care of me throughout the process. Thank you Dr. Salome for being a great Dentist :)

Marco Capone

My son had a wiggly tooth and would not allow any assistance in extraction. Over the week, I saw signs of infection and had to seek help. Dr. Salome established a great relationship with him. Observing her interaction was a pleasure to watch. She was using toys to build the relationship with my son and her knowledge in children psychology played a valuable role. Within a few minutes he was smiling, holding the tooth in his hands. Thank you Dr. Salome for an amazing dentist experience! At 5 years of age, it is important for them not to be afraid to visit the Dentists!

Dr. Adrijana Pesevska

An extremely modern, high quality dental office. Coupled with the attentive and caring approach of Dr. Salome makes Inpath the dental office I use and I recommend to all my friends and family.

All equipment is cutting edge. This is THE DENTAL CLINIC to make your own. No more fear of dental care for children and parents alike. Try it for yourself :)

Jacques Lauzon

Finding a great dentistry group can sometimes be difficult. Dr. Maria Salome, is one of the most talented dentists I have ever worked with. While presenting with some difficult fillings to replace from my previous dentist (after only a couple of years) Dr. Maria's precision and patience has helped with replacing these difficult fillings and avoiding much more complicated and involved work. Dr. Maria is an amazing addition to this long standing practice and I wholeheartedly recommend seeing her and the team. You WON'T be disappointed!

Jeannot Lamarre

Cheryl D.

We recently had a cleaning for my 5 year old here with Dr. Salome. She was great with my daughter, explaining everything every step of the way. I appreciated how thorough Dr. Salome was in not only explaining to me but also explaining to my 5 year old in a way she could understand. During the process, my daughter was occupied with cartoons and didn't mind the procedure at all. After completing her treatment, she was excited to select a gift from the treasure chest and a fun oral care bag.

Kris Trinidad

The “tooth fairy” Dentist, Dr. Maria Salome Lomlomdjian visited my business, Alpha’s Discovery Kids Preschool and Daycare, to teach the children about how to take care of their teeth. She brought puppets, big toothbrushes and mirrors and several other props to make it fun! She even made individual gift bags for each of the children to take home. The kids were so engaged! Thanks Dr. Salome for an amazing educational experience!

Susie Beghin

Frequently Asked Questions

Is cosmetic dentistry expensive?

At In Path Dental, we create dental treatment plans according to your needs with different treatment options to ensure our patients are able to receive the services they need for the smile they want.

Why should I choose professional teeth whitening over the kits from the store?

Bleaching kits sold in stores stay on your teeth longer than toothpaste and contain stronger "bleach". These store-bought products do not come with the added safety of having your dentist monitoring any side effects. Vital bleaching, also called whitening, may be carried out in the dental office or the dentist may instruct the patient on how to do the bleaching at home. Products used by dentists are approved by the Canadian Dental Regulators, so they produce the best results and are safe. Dentists are trained to provide a costom treatment according to your needs. Also spot and treat the side effects that patients sometimes report during bleaching.

What are the benefits of cosmetic dentistry?

The benefits of cosmetic dentistry services can be more than just a better smile. A cosmetic dentist can make corrections in your mouth which reduce pain and discomfort, which allow proper development of teeth, and which can help restructure your mouth after an injury. Cosmetic dentistry helps to improve the functionality of your teeth and mouth and also can do wonders in improving your self-confidence. For more information about how to improve your smile please call In Path Dental.

What is the difference between general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry combines both art and science to give you a healthy, aesthetic, flawless smile. While general dentistry is aimed at maintaining the health of your teeth and gums, cosmetic dentistry provides comprehensive treatment options that improve and preserve the way your smile looks and feels.

How poor oral health can affect overall health in Seniors and Special health care needs patients?

Poor oral health may increase the number of harmful bacteria found in the mouth, which may release toxins into the blood that can damage heart tissue or develop lung infections such as pneumonia, especially for seniors who have a hard time swallowing. Poor oral health can also lead to cases of severe gum disease and loss of teeth. Gum disease may also make it harder for people with diabetes to control their blood sugar levels. Gum disease may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Why is dental care important before, during and after Pregnancy?

It is important for you to take good care of your teeth and gums before, while and after you are pregnant. Pregnancy causes hormonal changes that boost the risk of developing gum disease which, in turn, can affect the health of your developing baby. We may recommend more frequent professional cleanings during your second or early third trimester to help reduce the chance of developing gingivitis (gum disease). Poor oral health has the risk of developing periodontitis (infection of bone holding the teeth in place). This type of infection has been associated with poor pregnancy outcomes such as delivering a preterm baby and a low birth weight. To learn more about how to protect your and your baby's health before, during and after the pregnancy please contact In Path Dental.

What is Nursing Bottle Syndrome?

Also known as baby bottle tooth decay or nursing caries, nursing bottle syndrome can result when a baby constantly takes in milk, formula, breast milk, fruit juice or sugar water, just about any liquid containing sugar. For example, sleeping throughout the night with a bottle of liquid containing formula or breast milk, increases the baby’s likelihood for developing caries. Milk has lactose, which is a type of sugar that during time transforms in acid remaining on the teeth that may encourage growth of bacteria that can cause tooth decay, an abscessed tooth or infection that may spread to other areas of the body.

What is the best way to prepare your child for the first dental appointment?

To prevent meltdowns and tantrums, we recommend that parents schedule their toddler’s first dentist visit in the morning. This is because children are typically at their best earlier in the day, so they are less likely to become upset and overwhelmed during their first pediatric dental visit if they are rested and alert. We also recommend that you become their role model at home with your oral hygiene habits and the day of the appointment. Make the first appointment a happy and adventurous visit, a fun event. Incorporate the dentist and oral hygiene into a playtime with books, videos, music and toys. Also we recommend staying calm, explaining in simple terms what is going to happen and avoid bribery with food, especially sugary treats because it will turn into a bad habit.

Do special health care needs patients have certain dental needs?

Often, special needs patients do have special dental needs. Some special health care needs patients might be more prone to tooth decay due to having some type of oral trauma, problems brushing their teeth, or through taking medication. It is important to have regular dental visits with the dentist to keep on top of any issues.

Why is it important to have regular dental cleanings and dental examinations?

Having regular dental exams helps your dentist catch problems early, when they’re much easier, less painful and less expensive to treat. Many dental diseases will not show symptoms or cause pain in the early stages. By the time you are experiencing pain or swelling, the disease has already progressed. How often you should have a dental exam depends on many different things including your unique oral health needs, your general health and lifestyle factors.

Why is Diagnostic Imaging important in a complete oral exam?

Radiographic, or X-ray, examinations provide your dentist with an important tool that shows the condition of your teeth, its roots, jaw placement and the overall composition of your facial bones. X-rays can help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal (gum) disease, abscesses and many abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumors. X-rays also can show the exact location of impacted and unerupted teeth. They can pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination.

What is Periodontal Disease?

Gum disease, or periodontal disease is a chronic inflammation and infection of the gums and surrounding tissue. Seven out of 10 Canadians will develop gum disease at some time in their lives. It is the most common dental problem, and it can progress quite painlessly until you have a real problem. That is why it is so important to prevent gum disease before it becomes serious. Periodontal diseases include gingivitis and periodontitis.

What is Oral Cancer Screening and Velscope technology?

The VELscope System is a revolutionary hand-held device to use an adjunctive mucosal examination system for the early detection of abnormal tissue. Centers on a wireless, handheld scope that uses natural tissue fluorescence to enhance the way clinicians visualize oral mucosal abnormalities that might not be apparent or even visible to the naked eye.

Why can diagnostic tools such as CariVu help?

CariVu detect dental caries at the earliest stage before they progress further.CariVu uses transillumination technology that makes the enamel appear transparent while porous lesions absorb the light and detect caries. Uses non-ionization radiation that finds cavities beneath the tooth’s surface which is ideal for children, pregnant women, and patients who are X-ray averse. It is a great tool to help diagnosing caries but also it is important to say that it can not give the dentist the complete information the regular x-ray can provide as also we need as clinicians to diagnose what is also happening inside the bone.
